Poles’ web activity highest on Mondays

In March, Polish network users were most active on Mondays and least on Saturdays. They were on the web an average of three hours on desktops and laptops, and almost an hour on mobile devices. 

In March, Poles spent the most time on the Internet on Mondays. On Monday 13th March they had the most page views (compared to other days of March), with as many as 2.3 milliard, and the average web user spent the most amount of time on the web on that day, at 3 hours and 3 minutes (source: a Gemius/PBI study). The day on which Poles surfed the net least was Saturday 25th March, when the average time online was 2 hours 16 minutes.

A record March 1st

Over the study period the highest number of people went online on Wednesday 1st March – 19.8 million (73.7 per cent). The lowest number using online facilities, at 17.8 million (66.2 per cent), was on Saturday 4th March.

Desktops and laptops vs. mobile devices

The data show that, in March 2017, 23.9 million web users (87 per cent) connected to the Internet via desktop or laptop. Mobile devices were used by 20.6 million people (75 per cent), with the decided majority of those – almost 20 million – opting for mobile phones, and 4 million for tablets. One quarter of web surfers (7 million) hooked up exclusively by desktop or laptop, and 13 per cent (3.7 million) only via mobile device. Poles most favoured viewing their web content on desktops and laptops on Mondays, and had phones and tablets more readily to hand than usual on Sundays.

Gemius has looked into which days, for how long, and via which devices Polish internet users used the network in March of 2017. The analysis was based on data for web users aged from 7 to 75. The number of internet users in Poland in the past month was 27.7 million.
