Users 60+ go online
In Poland, over the last ten years, the number of persons older than 60 and using the internet has increased ten-fold. Still, however, they constitute a very small share of the Polish online audience. Internet users 60+ are predominantly male. They are twice as numerous as women.
A grandpa talking with a grandson on Skype or playing chess online is not an unusual sight anymore. Also women over 60 seem to appreciate the possibilities offered by the internet. They go online in search for recipes, gossip, or horoscopes. Is this observation reflected in statistical data? Is the 60+ Poles’ interest in the internet growing? What websites are used by the internet audience in this age group? The answer can be found in the infographic chart prepared by Gemius.
The data quoted originates from an international project (gemiusAudience) conducted by Gemius in more than 30 countries. It aims to research into the number and demographic profile of internet users and the manner in which they utilize the web. The study is performed according to Gemius proprietary hybrid methodology and in accordance with the ICC/ESOMAR international code of conduct.
