Gemius looked at which online video adverts reached the greatest number of German internet users. The study takes into account last month’s data for internet users aged 18 to 90 on desktop and laptop computers. The leader of the 10 video ads with the greatest number of web viewers was material promoting the website Unbeschwert-mit-schuppenflechte.de (owned by Novartis). The advert for this psoriasis-sufferer website met with an audience of 8.5 million internet users (source: gemiusAdReal).

Three for health, three for electronics

The Top 10 featured three videos advertising health-related services and products. Besides the website mentioned above there was an offering from the pharmaceutical brand Wick (Procter & Gamble Co.), which was watched by some 4 million internet users, and one for Hexal AG (again from Novartis) with 3.9 million viewers. The rankings also contained three brands associated with electronics and the Internet. Listed second was a spot for the cell phone provider 1und1.de (1&1 Internet SE) which was viewed by 7.7 million people. The penultimate place in the Top 10 went to an advertisement for the audiobook website Audible (Amazon Group), which was watched by 3.6 million internet users. The list closes with an ad promoting Samsung Galaxy mobile devices (Samsung Electronics, with an audience of 3.3 million.

1und1.de tops video views

Of the ten video ads which reached the greatest number of German internet users in February, the most views (35.4 million) were for material promoting a bundled television, telephone and internet package from 1und1.de. The advert by Unbeschwert-mit-schuppenflechte.de was viewed 22.4 million times, while a video spot for Fiat (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles – FCA) was seen 19.4 million times.
