Every third internet user uses a smartphone

The latest data (April 2015) shows that, in Lithuania, domestic websites are viewed via smartphone by almost one third of internet users aged 7-74 (31 per cent), i.e. 748 thousand people.

Online dating takes up the most time

The analysis also showed that, of all domestic websites, Lithuanian internet users connecting to the internet via smartphone spend the most time on dating site Ieskok.lt – more than eight hours per month on average. Two other websites with similar content were also on the list – Hotnot.lt (an average of four hours 40 minutes per user per month) and Draugas.lt (an average of around three hours per user per month).

In Lithuania, smartphone users spend a lot of time browsing news websites (Delfi.lt, 15min.lt, Lrytas.lt), sports sites (Krepsinis.net, Basketnews.lt), parenting sites (Tevu-darzelis.lt) and automotive sites (Autogidas.lt).

The data comes from gemiusAudience, an international research project conducted by Gemius in around 30 countries in Europe, Middle East and North Africa. It aims to determine the number and demographic profile of internet users and to learn about the ways in which they use the net: websites, audio and video material, or applications.
