Online video and games are the students’ thing

Online video and games are the most popular form of entertainment with students – the most recent Gemius data shows.

Gemius has checked what websites young internet users between 7 and 14 years old turn to when looking for entertainment. It turns out the most popular destination is YouTube (source: gemiusAudience, April 2014). It is used by almost 2 million Polish children online (1.9 m of the website’s audience are individuals between 7 and 14 years of age). Also greatly popular are websites offering online games. In April the top ones were goodgamestudios.com (0.9 m) and cda.pl (0.7 m). They are equally appreciated by boys and girls.

As it can be seen in the data, the youngest internet users, i.e. aged 7-14, account for 11 per cent of all online population.

As it can be seen in the data, the youngest internet users, i.e. aged 7-14, account for 11 per cent of all online population.

The data quoted originates from an international internet study measurement (gemiusAudience) conducted by Gemius in more than 35 countries. It aims to research into the number and demographic profile of internet users and the manner in which they utilize the web, audio and wideo content, as well as mobile applications. The study is perfomed according to Gemius proprietary hybrid methodology and in accordance with the ICC/ESOMAR international code of conduct.
