Online dating takes up a lot of time for Lithuanians
Number of Lithuanian internet users browsing domestic websites on tablets is two times smaller compared to smartphone users. It turns out, however, that both groups spend most time on the same three websites. Read on to find out which sites.
Smartphones more popular than tablets
According to an analysis carried out by Gemius, one third of Lithuanians aged 7-74 (31 per cent), i.e. 784 thousand people, browse domestic sites using smartphones. Meanwhile, data from April 2015 shows that less than half this number (13 per cent), i.e. 311 thousand people, use tablets to browse domestic sites.
Dating and news on tablets and smartphones
It also turns out that, on average, both Lithuanians browsing domestic sites on smartphones and those browsing on tablets spend most time on the same three websites. The top three sites were two dating services (Ieskok.lt and Hotnot.lt) and the news service Delfi.lt.
Smartphone browsing takes up more time
However, there are differences in the length of time that mobile internet users spend on these pages. Tablet users spend an average of two hours 46 minutes per month on Ieskok.lt, while smartphone users browse for an average of eight hours one minute. The same applies to Hotnot.lt and Delfi.lt (tablet users, respectively: one hour 37 minutes and one hour 30 minutes, and smartphone users respectively: four hours 39 minutes and two hours 51 minutes).

The data comes from gemiusAudience, an international research project conducted by Gemius in around 30 countries in Europe, Middle East and North Africa. It aims to determine the number and demographic profile of internet users and to learn about the ways in which they use the net: websites, audio and video material, or applications. The research is carried out in compliance with the international code of conduct CC/ESOMAR.
