Mobile internet is growing in strength
Denmark and Slovakia have the largest share of mobile Internet traffic. Estonia shows the most dynamic growth in this segment.
Gemius analyzed in which countries users connect to the Internet using tablets and smartphones most often. The analysis covered all markets in which the company conducts the measurement of Internet traffic. The period from 4 to 10 November 2013 has been analyzed.
It turns out that mobile Internet is the most popular among users in Denmark (35 per cent of Internet traffic comes from mobile devices). Among Central and Eastern Europe countries, Slovakia is on the first place in this respect (22 per cent). In contrast, a country where Internet users view websites primarily using personal computers is Moldova (1 per cent of mobile views).
The comparison of annual figures showed that all analyzed countries reported an increase in the share of mobile Internet traffic. The most dynamic growth was observed in Estonia, where there has been a threefold increase in the share of mobile Internet traffic. In second and third place in this respect were Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria (more than a two-fold increase). In contrast, the least rapid development of mobile Internet was noted in Russia (an increase from 6 to 7 per cent).
