iPad rules over the internet
iPad and iPhone are the most popular models of mobile devices by means of which Internet users from Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa connect to the Internet – a Gemius study suggests.
Gemius checked what models of mobile devices are the most popular among Internet users from all the countries in which the company measures the Internet traffic (gemiusTraffic). The period from 21 to 27 October has been analysed. It turns out that most often they connect with the Internet using the iPad. This flagship Apple tablet is the most popular in Denmark – nearly half (47 per cent) of the Internet traffic in Denmark comes from this device. The exception is Croatia and Macedonia, where respectively 23 and 21 per cent of the mobile web traffic derives from the iPhone.
Apple products leave the competition far behind. It turns out that in all the countries surveyed, the second most popular device for browsing the web is also a product of the company from Cupertino (iPad in Croatia and Macedonia, and iPhone in other countries). The exception is Estonia, where the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is on the second position in terms of share of the Internet traffic – as far as 11 per cent of mobile views come from this this device.
