iOS run devices rising in Europe

In 12 of 14 countries analysed, there has been a rise in the percentage of web page views originating from devices running the Apple operating system. iOS is most widely used in Turkey, where one in five page views on the Turkish internet is made on a device with the system.
The study compared May data from 2016 and 2017 for domestic web domains views originating from devices with the iOS operating system in Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Belarus and Ukraine.

In three of the 14 countries analysed, the percentage of page views on iOS devices in May reached a double-digit value (source: gemiusPrism). The record-holder is Turkey, where one in five (19.4 per cent) views of domestic web domains was made on a device with the Apple system. There were also high figures recorded for Romania (10.9 per cent) and Croatia (10 per cent). In May, iOS was least popular in Ukraine, with only 3.9 per cent of page views.
Greatest growth in Turkey – a fall in Russia
Comparing data from 2016 and 2017, the greatest growth in percentage of views on iOS devices occurred in Turkey. The share of views there increased from 15.1 per cent to 19.4 per cent. Increases were also seen in the remaining countries, with the exception of Russia and Czechia, where a year-over-year drop was recorded in the number of views on iOS devices.
