Facts about Hungarian internet users
A recent analyses by Gemius shows that every fourth member of the online audience in Hungary is between the ages of 25 and 34. Also, one in four internet users have completed secondary education, and one is five – higher.
The population of Hungarian internet users reached 5 million in Q2. Records show 5 152 896 individuals among the population aged 15 and over. This means 60.78 percent internet penetration, which is about the European average, and quite a high result for the Central and Eastern European region. Most of the online audience (86 per cent) use the internet on a daily basis.
Most internet users come from Budapest (1.13 m, 22 per cent of internet users). Slightly more than half of total users (52.8 per cent) live in county’s capital or other cities, and 25.2 per cent live in villages. In more detail, women currently lead with 51.2 per cent, over male users - who constitute 48.8 per cent of the online audience.
Furthermore, the research project gemiusAudience shows that more than half (52 per cent) of internet users are in between 18 and 39 years old. However, the least numerous group is age 60 and older, is rowing and has so far reached 10 per cent.
