Apple: popularity of devices online
In Belarus, the share of iPhones and iPads online has fallen by half.Dips are also visible in other countries of Central and Eastern Europe. See whether internet users browse the web on the screens of Apple devices as often as a year ago.
Gemius compared the percentages of views of domestic websites on Apple devices in 18 countries. We analysed the data from April 2015 and 2016.
The data shows that in April 2016 internet users less frequently used Apple's devices to surf the web than a year earlier. The Cupertino company's position online has weakened in seventeen out of eighteen European countries analysed.
Belarus - the largest twofold drop
The largest decline in the popularity of Apple smartphones and tablets among surfers can be seen in Belarus. The percentage of page views generated on the screens of iPhones and iPads fell by almost half (from 26.5 per cent in April 2015 to 13.6 per cent webpage views in April 2016).
Russia – stable
The only country where internet users surfing the Web using Apple mobile devices is the same as a year ago is Russia. Every second view of the Russian web comes from the products of the American giant (50.2 per cent in April 2016 of the year and 50.9 per cent in April 2015).
Turkey – the only one, but a substantial increase
In contrast, the only country among those analysed where we can talk about growth is Turkey. In April this year, it reported 37 per cent webpage views carried out using the brand's devices as opposed to a year ago – 26.9 per cent.
In the analysis, traffic on national websites performed using Apple devices was considered.
