Research Methodology
gemiusProfile study is based on data collected in the Megapanel PBI/Gemius research. It supplies information about the Polish internet usage and their socio-demographic profile.
The Megapanel PBI/Gemius study is conducted in order to gather the information concerning the whole population of internet audience in Poland, to define internet users’ profile and their intensity of browsing the Web, and to create the ranking list of the most popular web sites.
The Megapanel PBI/Gemius research is based on a methodology, which is unique on a world scale, and combines user-centric type of measurement (panel research) with site-centric. The basic source of information concerning web sites visited by internet users and used applications, time spent on the internet is internet panel comprised of few thousands internet users. The data are merged with socio-demographic characteristics of the users. The composition of the panel is tailored to the socio-demographic structure of Polish internet users, which comes from the structure survey of NetTrack – SMG/KRC Poland Media SA. The Megapanel PBI/Gemius research methodology is the result of conceptual, research and analytical elaborations of Gemius specialist.
During generating the results of gemiusProfile, data from Megapanel PBI/Gemius are joined with data regarding the structure of client’s web site – its division into sections and subsections.
The obtained results comprise the basis of creating the characteristics of internet users, visiting the respective parts of client’s web page.
Consequently, there is a possibility to define the size and to characterise the audience visiting the respective parts of customer’s web site.
