Gemius SA signs deal with Dir.bg

Gemius SA, the leading online research agency in Central and Eastern Europe, has signed an agreement for Internet audience measurement with the largest Bulgarian portal – Dir.bg.
Dir.bg was founded in 1997 and it has been considered a strong Internet brand and one of the leading Internet media sites in Bulgaria ever since. It provides a wide range of products and services - free e-mail, chats, forums and blogs. It also offers special sections such as business, real estate, lifestyle and music.
In accordance with the deal, Gemius SA will provide data on the real number of Internet users visiting different sections of the portal, along with their socio-demographic profile. Using the most recent methodology, the research agency will supply advertisers with reliable information and enable them to easily reach the targeted audience. As this is the first contract of its kind on the whole Bulgarian Internet market, advertisers may now improve the effectiveness of their online campaigns and maximise profit from money invested.
The Bulgarian Internet market is one of the most dynamically growing business sectors. According to recently published data, 75% of the companies in Bulgaria and 2.5 mln Bulgarians use the Internet every month. Even though this is less than the average for other European countries, it may be a sign of great potential in this country.
“We believe that one unified methodology on the Bulgarian market is a prerequisite for the dynamic development of the Internet,” said Monika Lasota, International Business Development Manager at Gemius.
