gemiusAudience launched in Bosnia and Herzegovina

A new project in Internet audience measurement has arrived on the Bosnia & Herzegovina market. Another country has therefore joined the group of CEE and Adria markets where this research is already ongoing.

The project, which is the property of Gemius SA, is being conducted in partnership with the Valicon company in the region of ex-Yugoslavia. gemiusAudience is supported by key local market players: online publishers, agencies dealing with Internet advertising and web design, as well as advertisers that have already spotted the potential of the most interactive medium – the Internet.

Currently, 25% of the Bosnia and Herzegovina population uses the Internet, while investment in Internet advertising is less than 1% of total advertisement spending in the country. Taking into consideration Gemius’ experience in other European markets, it is expected that by introducing its unique Internet measurement tool - gemiusAudience - advertisers’ investment in online campaigns will grow.

For a particular Internet site, participation in the gemiusAudience research brings advantages, especially in the competition for the share of the advertising budget of domestic and foreign advertisers. What is more, it facilitates the optimization of site content and adaptation to the users’ needs. For example, gemiusAudience shows how to facilitate navigation on the service or points to the best ways of positioning in the web, so that visitors will get there with no difficulties. On the other hand, advertisers and agencies benefit from gemiusAudience by receiving exact and trustworthy information for the planning of online advertising campaigns.

The first data for the Bosnia and Herzegovina market will be available in September 2007. The data will be available on a monthly basis and will then be presented in the media planning tool - gemiusExplorer, which will offer a comparison between various sites in smaller time units such as days, weeks, week-ends or work days.

Among other benefits, the gemiusAudience research introduces a completely new way of presenting the reach of Internet media. Instead of the type of information that was available so far, such as cookies, gemiusAudience - with the help of advanced methodology - presents much more detailed data, such as the number of “real users“ and much, much more.

The online audience measurement data is already a standard in Croatia and is attracting more and more web sites in neighboring Slovenia as well. Valicon d.o.o. is one of the leading marketing consulting and research companies operating in the region of South Eastern Europe. The company was established in 2007 when two companies, Cati (since 1996) from Slovenia and Prizma Istraživanja (since 2000) from Croatia, joined forces.
